COOKT

COOKT is a halal meal delivery service that ships fully cooked meals you reheat in a few minutes; there's no kit and no cooking. Its homepage sums it up as "Chef-cooked halal meals, ready in 3 minutes," with "Grilled Proteins, gourmet international flavors, macro-balanced and 100% Halal." The FAQ adds that "every meal is 100% Zabihah Halal and prepared with verified ingredients." The founders write that, growing up in the U.S., they found halal options "repetitive" and "didn't reflect the variety and richness of global cuisine," so they started COOKT for busy Muslim families. The stated mission is to make diverse halal meals accessible to people "who don't want to compromise on taste, nutrition, or religious values," and the company is clear you "don't have to be Muslim" to order. Its team page names an operations manager, Musa Waseem, and a project manager, Amira Tamboo. For anyone who eats halal and wants high-protein, ready-made meals, it fills a real gap.

How ordering works

You build a box: "Pick 7 or more chef-cooked meals to start a box," and "your first delivery comes with 3 free meals on us." The weekly menu offers "over 20" meals, and the company says it introduces "new globally inspired dishes every week." Meals can be bought as a subscription or a one-time purchase; the homepage says "Cancel or pause anytime · One time purchase available."

The fine print matters. Subscriptions "can generally be modified, skipped, or canceled at any time, provided changes are made at least 24 hours before the next renewal date," and renewal reminders go out 3 days ahead. But there's an exception: "Subscriptions that include a First Week Free offer are subject to a minimum commitment of three paid renewal orders," and can't be cancelled until those are complete. If you take the free-meals offer, you're signing up for at least 3 more paid boxes.

What it costs

Meals are priced individually. The Creamy Blackened Chicken Pasta is $14.99 a meal and the BBQ Brisket Burnt Ends with Cheddar Mac & Braised Greens $15.99. The cart shows the 3 free first-box meals valued at $41.97, a "Bulk discount" that kicks in at larger box sizes, optional package protection at $3.96 to cover "loss, theft & damage in transit," and a "$50 gift card after your 4th box." The site doesn't show a shipping fee on its menu or policy pages. It also says "A portion of every sale goes to charity."

The food itself

The menu leans global and hearty, with macros printed for each dish. Recent examples: Fiery Caribbean Chicken & Rice (500 calories, 47g protein), Creamy Blackened Chicken Pasta (810 calories, 62g protein), Jamaican Rasta Pasta with Charred Jerk Chicken (720 calories, 61g protein), Beef Barbacoa Bowl with Roasted Corn and Black Beans (610 calories, 38g protein), Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo with Roasted Vegetables, and Asian Sesame Salmon with carrots and broccoli (660 calories, 41g protein). There's also a Smokey Chipotle Chicken Bowl and BBQ Brisket Sliders.

The company says its high-protein meals carry "30 to 50g protein," and advertises "Sub 400 calorie meals" for people watching portions. It describes meals as "crafted by Gourmet-trained chefs, using only premium halal-certified ingredients." Heating is "Under 4 minutes in the microwave or oven." For storage, the FAQ says meals "can be refrigerated upon delivery and consumed within 3-5 days," or "kept frozen for up to 6 months."

Beyond the high-protein line, the homepage groups meals under a gut-friendly heading ("Whole foods, high fiber, fresh vegetables") and a calorie-conscious one ("Portion-controlled"). Those are the company's labels; the site doesn't publish fiber figures alongside them. Its About page goes further, calling halal "a better choice" for your body, a claim that's the company's own.

Customer ratings sit beside each dish, mostly between 4.6 and 4.8 stars, and the site reports "4.7/5 • 791 reviews" overall. It also says "10,000+ families" order from it, and elsewhere on the same page cites "1000+ verified reviews," so the review count depends on which part of the page you read; those are the company's own numbers either way. The homepage also features a NYC-based halal food and lifestyle creator, which tells you who the brand is courting.

Who it reaches

"We deliver to the contiguous 48 states!" the FAQ says, so Alaska and Hawaii are out. Orders are processed and shipped on Mondays and Tuesdays "to help meals arrive safely before the weekend," and the homepage says they're "Delivered in 1 to 3 days." The cutoffs are exact: orders placed before Sunday at 5 PM are eligible for Monday processing, orders from Sunday after 5 PM to Monday at 5 PM for Tuesday, and anything later waits for the next week. Which day your box goes out depends on your transit zone: 3-day zones usually ship Monday, 1-day zones usually Tuesday. Tracking arrives once the carrier scans the box, and the company says "99% of orders follow the schedule above," with carrier date changes showing up in your tracking link. Within each shipping day, orders are prioritised by transit time and then first in, first out. Discount codes can be applied to subscription orders at checkout or in the customer portal. Damaged meals are refunded on request with photos, and lost packages can be claimed for replacement.

What the site leaves open, and who it suits

The site doesn't publish a shipping fee in its policies, and the full-week price only becomes clear once you fill a box. Kitchen location and sourcing specifics beyond "premium halal-certified ingredients" aren't given either. The most important thing to know is the 3-renewal minimum attached to the free-meals offer, which is easy to miss.

COOKT suits halal eaters, Muslim families and anyone who wants high-protein, globally seasoned meals with visible macros, especially people who've found halal prepared food repetitive. The per-meal price is clear, the macros are printed on every dish, and the menu changes weekly. It suits less well someone who wants to try a single box with no follow-on commitment through the free-meals offer, and anyone in Alaska or Hawaii.
