What Jenny Craig is

Jenny Craig is the long-running weight-loss brand, now sold purely as home delivery: frozen, ready-made meals that you heat, with coaching by phone or online. It's not a meal kit. The FAQ is candid that "The NEW Jenny Craig is not affiliated with the previous company, ownership, or agreements," and that it "will not have physical center locations," so this is the old brand under new owners (JCR Holdings II, LLC). The recipes carried over, though: "YES! Jenny Craig foods are many of the same recipes you know and love." If you liked the food years ago and want structure without cooking, this is familiar ground.

How ordering works

The how-it-works page splits the options into a guided plan or a customizable one.

The Meal Delivery Plan sends breakfasts and entrées every 2 weeks, in a choice of versions: 14 breakfasts and 14 entrées; the same plus 14 shakes; or the same plus 14 desserts. The Jenny Craig Program is the fuller version, which the company calls "the most comprehensive weight loss plan we offer": every 2-week shipment holds 14 breakfasts, 28 lunches/dinners and 14 snacks/desserts, so all your daily meals come from the box. Club Jenny is the flexible option, a subscription that gives you the full menu to "Order what you want, whenever you want," with "no minimum purchase required."

For either plan you choose a menu type: pick each item yourself, or take the "Customer Favorites" box, a pre-selected mix the company recommends for first orders. The Customer Favorites list reads like comfort food: Classic Waffles, Cinnamon Rolls, Baked Ziti, Margherita Pizza, Orange Chicken, Classic Lasagna with Meat Sauce, Chocolate Lava Cake.

The plans run on Auto-Ship, which the FAQ describes as shipping "to your door every 2 weeks." You get reminders before each order, and you can "Delay, update or cancel your order anytime," with one hard rule: changes must be made by "the 6pm ET cut off" the day before your order is fulfilled, and orders already in fulfillment "cannot be edited, delayed or cancelled." If you don't edit, you receive the same items as last time. Coaching "is available with all Jenny Craig plans and Club Jenny," and every plan includes the Jenny Craig app for tracking food, exercise and water.

What it costs

Jenny Craig doesn't print a standard per-week price in its plan descriptions; the plan builder calculates it as you choose. What the site does publish are the add-on costs and discounts. Adding shakes or desserts to the Meal Delivery Plan costs "just $25 more/week." Prepaying brings extra savings: "Pay for 2 Shipments: Save an EXTRA 10% on Each Shipment!" and "Pay for 4 Shipments: Save an EXTRA 15% on Each Shipment!"

The introductory offer is "$50 OFF + FREE Shipping Sitewide!" with code JENNY50, valid "for new customers on your first order only," and it signs you up for recurring shipments: "you are automatically charged and your plan is shipped once every 2 weeks unless you cancel." Keep that first-order discount separate from what later shipments cost. Outside that offer, the plan page lists a separate shipping line for each ordering option, so check it at checkout.

Club Jenny is priced differently. The homepage lists it at $12.99 with the first month free, and new customers get "25% Off Meals & Snacks" on auto-ship orders of $100 or more, then 10% off later auto-ship orders. Club Jenny orders ship for "a flat $20 per shipment," with free delivery on a la carte orders of $100+. The meal plans include the first month of Club Jenny free.

The food itself

The company's headline claim on food is simple: "Ready-made meals, all under 300 calories." It describes them as "Designed by dietitians for balanced nutrition; chef-crafted for satisfying indulgence," and says meals "are flash-frozen to lock in freshness and ready to eat in just minutes." The plans page lists support for "Low-Carb • High Protein • Intermittent Fasting • and more!" and the menu includes a Carb-Conscious Dinners section with dishes such as the Beef Taco Bowl. Other items on the current menu include Creamy Dill Salmon, a Canadian Style Turkey Bacon, Egg and Cheese Muffin, and New York Style Cheesecake.

Intermittent fasting is built in if you want it. The company recommends a 14:10 schedule and sells a Nut & Honey Recharge Bar to eat late in the fasting window; there's also an Anytime Bar for non-fasting plans.

The Jenny Craig Program also expects you to add grocery food. The FAQ's grocery guidance covers non-starchy vegetables (at least 3 servings a day, it recommends), fruit, lean protein and "Flavor Unlimited" extras.

Weight-loss claims, in the company's words

Results are a big part of the pitch, and they come with caveats worth reading. The program page says "Lose up to 24 lbs in your first 8 weeks," footnoted "Based on prior program including Recharge bars, now sold separately," and adds "In a study, average weight loss was 22 lbs." The homepage testimonials carry the note "Real success stories. Compensated for appearance. Expect to lose an avg 1-2 lbs per week." And the claim that "4 out of 5 people agree Jenny Craig is the most effective weight loss plan they've tried" rests on "a December 2024 customer survey with 542 Jenny Craig program customer responses." These are Jenny Craig's figures, not independent findings.

Where it ships

Plan orders ship within the Contiguous U.S. and to select parts of Canada. The FAQ spells out the exclusions: "AK, HI, Puerto Rico, APO and PO Boxes, military addresses, other U.S. territories and possessions." In Canada, only British Columbia, Alberta and Ontario are served, at $49.99 (USD) per order. Each 2-week order arrives in one shipment containing frozen and non-frozen items, and processing and delivery take "up to 1 to 5 business days." The box is big: "around 25 x 18 x 26" and "40 to 50lbs," though the company says shipments are "designed to fit in your freezer."

What the site leaves open, and who it suits

The main gap is the base plan price, which you only see once you start building an order. The site also doesn't publish nutrition figures in its plan descriptions beyond the under-300-calorie promise.

Jenny Craig suits someone who wants a structured, portion-controlled week with little decision-making, coaching included, and familiar food. Club Jenny suits someone who wants the meals without a set plan. It's a poor fit for Alaska, Hawaii or PO Box addresses, and for anyone who wants to see the full price before starting checkout.
